Brent Coon & Associates was founded in 2001. Today, with 12 offices spanning the country, it is one of the largest trial law firms in the nation and the epitome of the 21st century law practice. Brent Coon & Associates employs over 40 aggressive litigators, with solid experience in individual and complex multi-party, occupational/environmental, health and personal injury cases.

With many of the firm’s cases being referred from outside attorneys who have confidence in the firm’s integrity, expertise and solid work ethic, BCA stands out as a true “Lawyer’s Law Firm”. “The reasons for this are many”, says BCA founder, Brent Coon, “While many law firms simply take a case and hope to settle, we stand ready to go to trial and fight for whoever we represent. These lawyers have confidence that we can and will get their clients the most return when it comes to justice and fair compensation. And, not only do the referring attorneys know this, but so does the other side.

With offices spread across the nation, BCA employs “multiple trial teams”, the top expert witnesses and the vital capitalization needed to go the distance and WIN the fight. Yet, even as a large and powerful law firm, BCA never forgets that each client is a person or family that often needs the kind of hand-holding and individual attention that typically only smaller firm can provide. “When you’re with BCA,” says Brent, “we treat you like a member of our own family”.

Drawing from young talent throughout the region, the firm is now comprised of talented, aggressive litigators, almost all with solid experience in handling complex multi-party cases, with emphasis on occupational/environmental law and personal injury practice.

“Our efforts in fighting the just cause have been recognized by both the national and international media, as well as our peers.” says Mr. Coon. “Our alliances include both the well known and those lesser known who share our goal of absolute justice for all citizens of the world. We are proud of our international reputation of standing shoulder to shoulder with those who are too frightened, confused and/or too small to fight alone. We will use all of the firm’s resources, legal, marketing and public relations talent to stand up and fight for those who cannot fight alone.”

The case that best exemplifies the resolve of Brent Coon & Associates, LLC was Rowe vs. BP Amoco Chemical Company, BP North America. On November 9, 2006, Coon reached an unprecedented settlement that included a “first ever” agreement to release seven million pages of sealed corporate documents that would have been presented during trial. “Our job in this case was not only justice for our client, but to make sure this kind of tragedy NEVER happens again”. The settlement also mandated that at least $32 million in charitable donations.

The attorneys of Brent Coon & Associates have received national recognition for its work. This includes the Steven J. Sharp Public Service Award; the American Association of Justice’s highest honor, the Clarence Darrow Award; and the USMFW Humanitarian Award, Texas Super Lawyers 2007, Texas’ Rising Star 2008 and 2010.

Brent Coon & Associates has great respect and admiration for the working people that compose the backbone of our country. Our mission is to help ensure their rights are protected and their well-being respected. Since the firm’s inception, standing hand in hand with labor unions has been a practice in which we take great pride. Brent Coon & Associates currently serves as District Counsel for the United Steelworkers (USW) District 13, which covers Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. We also serve as General Counsel to the Helicopter Pilots Union, a member of the OPEIU.
