BP 2005 and 2010 - Full Version
BP’s corporate culture is one of habitual disregard for the safety of its employees. From top corporate executives to mid-level managers, BP has consistently chosen profits over people and a lack of value for human life. Time and time again, BP has received record fines from OSHA and other industry regulators for their dismal process safety and under facilitated and under maintained plants. Yet, the cost cutting continues and the lives of BP employees are continually and needlessly jeopardized. The video above shows how eerily similar BP’s catastrophes have unfolded. From budget cuts to improperly maintained facilities, to the standard PR response and “damage control”, to the out of touch executives, the 2005 Texas City Explosion and the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Explosion are near carbon copies of each other. And until BP’s corporate culture is changed and top level executives are held accountable, catastrophes such as these will continue to happen.
